(July 1)--Guangdong Province’s authorities recently announced that the rainstorms in South China restricted the sales growth of air conditioners and that the Province’s sales are 60%-70% lower than its beginning of June estimate. A source with one of the Province’s large air conditioner companies disclosed that the short-term sales reduction will not significantly influence their sales, which are expected to peak in July and August given the upcoming hot days. Since the beginning of this year and despite the freezing cold temperatures, the sales of air conditioners grew during most months.
