(July 1)--The Fu’an City Committee in Fujian Province recently disclosed that Rongtai Group will invest RMB1bn in establishing a ship electromechanical product logistics base in the City. The base will involve e-commerce, logistics and distribution and will strive to offer online trading and offline distribution services to the City’s pillar industries, namely the ship and electromechanical product industries. The Group has already signed the agreement with the City’s government on this base that will cover 40ha (600mu). The base is slated to be put into operations in 2009 and is expected to have 3mt of cargo throughput as well as generate RMB10bn in trading value.
