(July 4)--Chrysler said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s Great Wall Motor to assess the feasibility of developing a long-term, strategic relationship.
Under the memorandum of understanding, the two companies will look into leveraging each other’s distribution networks and component and technology capabilities, said Daphne Zheng, Chrysler Asia’s director of marketing and communications.
"The memorandum of understanding represents part of Chrysler’s ongoing efforts to explore opportunities to expand its involvement in the development of China ’s auto industry," Zhang said in a statement.
Chrysler did not disclose any further details.
Great Wall Motor officials were not immediately available for comment.
