JAKARTA, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian police announced Wednesday names of new suspects involved in the bombings that rocked J.W. Marriott
and Ritz Carlton hotels on July 17.
Speaking at a press conference held in national police headquarters in the capital of Jakarta, National Police spokesman Nanan Soekarna said that the new suspects were Syaifudin Zuhri akaUdin aka Sole, Mohammad Syahrir aka Aing, Bagus Budi Pranoto aka Urwah,
and Ario Sudarso aka Suparjo Dwi Anggoro.
Nanan said that Syaifuddin is believed to be the recruiter of suicide bombers, while Urwah is a former convict who has completed his jail term for hiding terrorists Ashari
and Noordin M. Top.
"The police are still investigating the roles of other suspects," Nanan said, quoted by the kompas.com.
Muhammad Syahrir is the older brother of Syaifuddin Zuhri. Police are still seeking his actual role in the bombing.
The efforts to search for those new suspects are underway at the moment.
Previously, Indonesian police's anti terror squad arrested a Saudi Arabian citizen in Bogor, West Java for allegedly channeled funds believed to be used by Noordin M. Top's terrorist group to finance the bombing at the two hotels.
