BEIJING: China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, dipped 1.8 percent in July from a year earlier, the National Bureau of Statistics said here Tuesday.
The producer price index (PPI), a major measurement of inflation at the
wholesale level, fell 8.2 percent year on year in July.
The decline compared with a 7.8-percent drop in June
and 7.2-percent drop in May from the same period last year.
The urban fixed-asset investment rose 32.9 percent in the first seven months of this year from a year earlier.
The industrial output accelerated 10.8 percent in July from a year earlier,after gaining 10.7 percent in June.
The
power generation expanded 4.8 percent in July from a year earlier.
